The smell of pine trees and the smoke from a still smoldering camp fire is what first woke me up and as I turned my body from its sideways sleeping form to my back, the sun's first light opened my eyes.
I don't normally wake up this early. It was probably 7am when I took this photograph. I usually wake up around...well, whenever my body feels like it. On a weekend that is. Obviously it's different during the weekdays. When I do go camping, it allows me to reset my body's clock and I sleep and wake at "normal" hours despite the fact that I lose a sense of time (my cell phone usually runs out of juice and I don't wear a wristwatch).
I can't wait to head back and be "one with nature" again.
