Time really flies as they say. Here comes the cliché part: I remember taking this photo like it was yesterday.
I spent the day at the Getty Villa with the Dodson family a couple of years back and it was my first time visiting here as I normally visit the Getty Center. I loved the Greek architecture of the villa and its proximity to the beach and the Pacific Ocean. I can't say the same for the art the villa houses. I can appreciate it but I blame my 11th grade experience in high school as my curriculum was heavy in ancient Greece with its arts and philosophers.
This photo is of my friend's son, Ocean. He was probably a little over a year old in this photo? Maybe 2. We were on a bathroom break and I tried to keep my hand as steady as I could when I took this shot. It was a slow speed film compared to the amount of light that was available and even though I opened up the lens here, the exposure was relatively slow which is why there's a bit of motion blur going on here.
Ocean is much older now and so am I but my memory is intact enough to remember this was a very good day.
