I'm currently working on a project (I know, it seems like I work on a lot of projects...) that hasn't been released just yet but this is one of the images that I plan on putting into it. There's something to be said about the concept of a road trip. Traveling vast distances on the open road in your car and seeing the world pass you by. It's a very American thing. I used to love driving when I owned a car and whenever I get the chance to drive, I always take that opportunity. I find myself wondering what life is like outside of my own bubble and road trips give me a small glimpse of that.
I took this photo on the way to San Francisco with my friend for a music festival. This was somewhere near San Simeon and the Hearst Castle. Every time I go to San Francisco, I either end up taking the 101 or 5 freeways and I've never travelled north via Pacific Coast Highway and I always wanted to since I heard it was a much more pleasant drive, albeit longer. So this time around, we took the longer way and drove up PCH. I loved it so much that every time I do go north, I intend on taking PCH. I highly recommend everyone take this drive if just once in their life. Make a few stops along the way. Experience new stuff and don't forget to take a couple of photos while you're at it.
