Some time later this year, me and my friend/business partner are planning to go official by building a website so before we actually launch, I thought it would be best if I go through all my photos and pick out the best shots that I've taken to be uploaded when the time comes. So currently I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio and it has become clear to me that I SERIOUSLY need to do some major work as my body of work is just a plain mess! Photos need to be properly categorized and some need to be worked over and edited as they haven't been put through the editing process. It's rather sad that a lot of the photos that need editing are some old works and I've been trying to crank them out as quickly as possible. Rather than start from old to new, I figure I'll work on the newer stuff first and work my way back in time.
This time around, I was able to finish off a fairly recent shoot for the De Lacy Collection for their Fall 2012 line. I'm not quite sure if they officially released it yet so I'm only showing a few of my favorite photos from that day. Editing credits are solely mine but photo credits are due to myself and my friend/business partner Juliyadi Prabowo. You'll notice that I gave the photos two kinds of editing touches. I did a soft, washed out edit due in part because I remember De Lacy showing me certain photos and asking me if the color was due to lighting or post (it can be done either way but for this particular instance, it was done post) and I did a more minimal yet bold edit on the others. Both edit forms can easily pass for high fashion photography but being the photographer/artist I am, I like to vary my edits with and within every shoot I do.
On a side note, it was pretty tough picking out a certain number of favorite photos because there were just SO many great shots that me and Juliyadi took that day. It was by far the most successful of the De Lacy shoots. A big thank you to Juliyadi for helping me out on that day and for lending his gear, as I am currently (digital) gearless, Whitney for being such a great model, and also to the De Lacy Collection for enjoying my work and continually hiring me and in the near future, me and my friend. Without further adieu, I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!
